Charles Wofford
I was born and raised in the heart of LA. I grew up watching people struggle in my own life. I've always had the yearn to be better. After graduating from CSU Stanislaus, I did not pursue employment in Probation because of my bad choices. That ultimately led to reconnecting with Jesus at my church home, Harvest.
With my wife and 3 kids, I continue to grow in the Lord (not perfect). Now I am working with grade school kids and guiding their learning about the Bible. It's exciting to see how each person can grow throughout their lives.
Why did you choose to be a LSC Community Advisory Committee member?
This organization is making a positive difference within the community where I reside.
What do you love most about LSC?
It's the background and difference that unite to lift up others. It's focusing on the good.
What do you love most about living in Stanislaus County?
Stanislaus County is a quite slower pace than LA. This allows me the time to raise my 3 kids with focus. It allows for us to be involved with community activities.
In what ways do you participate in the community?
As the times change, I'm getting back into volunteering. I enjoy talking with the youth I work with, serving at church, and donating resources.
