Love Modesto Event Coordinator

Sarah is the Event Coordinator for both Love Modesto and Love Our Cities. She started her journey with this non-profit organization in 2017 after concluding a contract coordinating for the non-profit organization World Relief. In her time with the organization, Sarah has successfully delivered yearly community-wide volunteer days known as Love Modesto and golf tournaments to fundraise for Love Our Cities. Sarah believes in the power of loving where you live and recognizing this is YOUR CHOICE!

Sarah was born and raised in Modesto, CA. After high school she attended California State University, Fresno where she received a BS in Commercial Recreation with a certificate in Special Event Coordinating. Post college Sarah performed as the Gym Director for the franchise The Little Gym and eventually left her love and passion for children to pursue coordinating private events. She served as an Event Sales Representative and Coordinator for the venue Vista Ranch and Cellars in Merced, CA for a little over three years. Nothing gave her more pleasure than being a part of a couples wedding! And eventually she coordinated her own wedding when she married her husband, Kion. Kion and Sarah have two beautiful children, Naia and Nevin. Besides raising her children, Sarah is involved in BSF, an avid Peloton rider and OTF member, loves to travel and eat her way through life!

What is your role at Love Stanislaus County?

It is my true honor to serve as the Event Coordinator for Love Stanislaus County, specifically Love Modesto every April. I also perform as the Event Coordinator for the Love Our Cities Annual Golf Tournament every August.

What do you love the most about your job?

I love having the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people in our community. I learn so much about Modesto each every year as I serve alongside these amazing people meeting the needs of our city. I enjoy seeing volunteers give of themselves selflessly.

What do you love most about living in Stanislaus County?

I believe Stanislaus County is very family oriented and offers many opportunities to better the lives of others. I have spent the majority of my life living here and have observed the growth of the county. As growth has occurred, the services offered have increased, which has resulted in the lives of many people being changed for the better.

In what ways do you participate in the community?

I am a part of Big Valley Grace Community Church and am an active member of BSF International. Seasonally I volunteer with the Salvation Army and perform annually as a Buddy for Night to Shine. In addition I serve on the Blight Abatement Advisory Committee.
