Stephanie Umstetter
Stephanie Umstetter is an early career professional with a love for her community and a desire to watch it continue to grow. She has worn many hats throughout her professional career as an Emergency Medical Technician, a non-profit Development Manager and is currently a Grants Analyst with that State of California’s Employment Development Department. She moved from the Bay Area to Modesto 10 years ago and in that time has graduated from Johansen High School, attended Modesto Junior College, and worked in several local businesses supporting the community. Stephanie enjoys visiting local coffee shops and brunch spots on the weekends, competing in sports with a local Weightlifting team and hiking in the beautiful scenery of the Central Valley.
Why did you choose to be a board member of LSC?
I chose to be a part of the LSC board to become more active and involved in my community.
What do you love most about being on the LSC board?
I love being able to support the people who create a space for our community to feel united even when the rest of the country is being divided.
What do you love most about living in Stanislaus County?
For the past 10 years I have lived in Stanislaus County I’ve seen this community grow rapidly. I admire that everyone in Modesto celebrates their culture and shares it with the community. From the small businesses selling delicacies of their hometown to the giant supermarkets and stores, Modesto has become a place where people from all walks of life can meet.
In what ways do you participate in the community?
I participate in my community by supporting local businesses, volunteering and donating to our non-profits.
