Why did you choose to be a LSC Advisory Board member?

I respectfully admire the vision of Mr. Pishney and Love Stanislaus County. Love Stanislaus County and Love Our Cities are master-class organizations in building relationships to strengthen community involvement through transformative engagement. As a lifelong resident of Stanislaus County, I am excited to contribute to LSC initiatives using the academic and professional platforms available to me to better the communities that we serve.

What do you love most about LSC?

Love Stanislaus County and Love Our Cities are a local pioneer in making community engagement fun, fulfilling, and year-round. Mr. Pishney’s and his team’s efforts are outstanding. I love that they promote communities to get-out, engage, and serve others, and assist at removing barriers to helping communities thrive. The organizations tackle various approaches to community engagement (Love Our Kids, Schools, and Neighbors), which reinforces their holistic approach at servant leadership.

What do you love most about living in Stanislaus County?

Stanislaus County has amazing historical roots and is located within proximity to the ocean and mountains. The diverse populations within the county adds a rich culture and excitement to the central valley. Also, Love Our Cities and Stanislaus County were founded in this county, which sets a great example how other communities can better themselves from within.

In what ways do you participate in the community?

Through my professional roles, I have built many great relationships and partnerships that strengthen our communities in various ways. Being introduced to the Love organizations in Spring 2025, I supported Love Stanislaus and Love Tuolumne Counties through several of their 2025 philanthropic events, and look forward to partnering and contributing to more year-round events to come. Personally, I am a nurturer and empathic to helping others. I believe in giving unconditionally towards others, never with the mindset of receiving anything in return. Also, this may be small, but I am very passionate about ecology and have zero qualms picking up garbage around me, versus walking by and ignoring rubbish. I believe in taking ownership in the abilities we can change.
